Steps to Keep Your Cabin Cool When It’s Hot and Sunny
Are you dreaming of being in the driver’s seat of a new Toyota car like the 2019 Toyota Camry? Has one of the pre-owned Toyota cars in our inventory caught your eye? Whether you get a new or previously owned vehicle, one thing is certain—it can be a challenge to keep your automobile cool during summer.
Few things bring summer fun to an end faster than having to get into a broiling car. Fortunately, there are some steps you can take to ensure your car’s cabin stays as cool as possible when your vehicle is parked.
Step one is to park in a shady or covered spot. Step two is to leave your windows open. Even if it’s hot out, the air on the outside of your vehicle will still be cooler than the air in your cabin. If you’re not comfortable leaving your windows fully open, at least leave them cracked so some of the hotter air can escape from your cabin.
If you have to park in the sun, step three is to use a sunshade. Even if you use a sunshade in your windshield, you should still cover your seats, steering wheel, and dashboard with a towel or blanket because the sun’s rays will reach the interior of your car through your other windows. By covering these things, you’ll prevent them from getting uncomfortably hot to the touch.
To cool your cabin down fast, there’s one more thing you can do. Open the window on the front passenger’s side and swing your driver’s side door back and forth quickly several times. This will force the hot air out of your car and replace it with cooler air.
